Tremblay and Parent at grips over defamation

Mayor Tremblay sent a formal notice to blue-collar union czar Michel Parent on Friday, asking him to withdraw the comparison he had drawn between Vincent Lacroix, Earl Jones, and Tremblay himself. Parent has refused to retract his statement, putting him at risk of charges for defamation, and has gone one further by comparing the mayor to Jean Lafleur, one of the principal characters in the sponsorship scandal.
