Businesses suffer during roadwork digs

Businesses on Park Avenue are taking a hit while the city replaces a water main in the blocks south of Bernard, although there’s to be a pause over the Christmas season. Seemingly endless roadwork on Ste-Catherine and in Côte-des-Neiges is also hurting businesses in those areas.

Spacing has some thoughts on how people make the most of these temporary changes in the urban fabric although it seems clear that any businesses that normally benefit from people strolling past are always going to suffer when the road outside their door is a gaping excavation for months on end.
