City reconsides tax hikes
Given the current circumstances, the city is considering rolling back the new tax hikes it imposed in its 2013 budget.
Moody’s thinks that although the city has debt, it’s not doing too badly financially.

This could be the beginning of Applebaum’s mayoral run. It looks like he’s making the announcement, and perhaps giving the orders, in this budget change. If Tremblay resigns next week & Applebaum is selected by council, then he cancels tax cuts, he’ll be making all the right moves. Next he’ll have to change the name of Union Montreal to something else.

So who is going to finance public services? Are we embarking on a neo-liberal strategy to reduce taxes and cut services like in the US?

@ John B , Applebaum is anything but a serious mayoralty candidate.
