Two demos in Monday news
Some folks held the now traditional monthly 22nd demo Monday afternoon, and there was one arrest and a bunch of fines handed out.
A different demo held Monday morning protested the growing use of fossil fuels in Quebec.

494$ fines? The article didn’t specify, but are they now applying law 78, or is it a municipal bylaw?

Municipal. Somehow everyone forgot about Tremblay’s special law with all the furor over bill 78. We should start the casseroles again.

$494 is the municipal fine, not the provincial fine. The police in Montreal have never applied bill 78.
I hope the protesters against fossil fuels came by bicycle or electric car and live in houses with electric heating, electric stoves, etc. And of course, I don’t expect that they will be flying anywhere for future protests :)

Ephraim, I’ll bet most of them arrived by metro, which should satisfy your requirements.
