Women hockey team plays for cup
The city’s female hockey team, the Montreal Stars, defends the Clarkson Cup this weekend but still say nobody really cares about their sport. Which is odd, because according to CTV these players also have another uncanny power: “After the game we meet the kids, the parents. We make them believe in themselves and their dreams.”

They don’t actually defend the Cup this weekend. They are the cup’s defending champions and their season begins this weekend.

I think one problem the league has is that teams currently exist in Toronto, the Toronto suburbs, Montreal, Boston and Calgary. That’s it. It’s an odd assortment of cities and makes for a strange league. The Calgary team, for instance, only plays half the number of games that all the other teams do, because they’re so isolated out there.

Kevin: thanks for the clarification. How do they make people believe in themselves and their dreams, though?
