City plans animal shelter for 2014

The city’s planning to build an animal shelter so it can handle animal control rather than contracting out to doubtful profit-making enterprises like Berger Blanc. The location’s not known yet. This was promised some months ago when Radio-Canada shocked the city with an inside look at Berger Blanc, so it’s good to know it has not been dropped.

There’s also some talk about permits to own cats and dogs, and nobody being allowed more than four animals. CBC focuses more on the bylaw about dangerous dogs.
