Typographical mural looms over QdesS
A new mural, described as typographical and luminous, now looms over the Quartier des spectacles, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde.
It’s not much of a photo, but I can tell you this much: I could’ve made a nicer one.

Not to be bitchy, but it looks a lot like the typographical and luminous treatments in Indigo bookstore right around the corner. OK, that’s bitchy, I can own that. Still looks like corporate signage.

I just find the tight leading kind of ugly. Admittedly, there’s probably no way to do this that isn’t going to date painfully within a couple of years anyway, but it doesn’t seem well integrated to me. I should take some photos of likely buildings and add some typographical flourish as an exercise.

It totally looks like the paint-roller graffiti you see here and there near the roofs of buildings.
