Dalhousie Square: a description
The Gazette has an item on Dalhousie Square “rising from the ashes” – which, considering it was originally destroyed in a fire in 1852, is a bit late in coming. But it isn’t news – the square was rebuilt in 2003, as briefly discussed here last year.

And where exactly *is* Dalhousie Square? And is it pronounced like a maritimer: Dal-House-ee, or like someone from Ottawa: Dal-Hoo-sie?
Inquiring minds want to know.

As you can see, there’s no reason for anyone to go there who doesn’t live there – no retail businesses or cafés around the square. The sculpture is quite nice:
but is probably not in “vaut le détour” territory.
As for pronunciation, I don’t know. I assumed the former, but maybe French would tend to favour the latter. How do people in Quebec City pronounce the street name?

I don’t know how francophones in Quebec City pronounce their street, but Acadians pronounce the town in northern New Brunswick as the former.
