City to install lots of fences at Lafontaine park
The city’s planning install a lot of fences at Lafontaine park to reduce erosion and also, it seems, to help enforce crowd control at certain times. Not sure whether this is the borough or the city’s doing.

In general, the large parks are controlled by Central City.

They can use the fences they took down at Maisonneuve Park.

Do people even go to Lafontaine Park now? I thought it was mostly enjoyed by off-leash dogs.

On any nice summer afternoon the park is full of people.

In the early morning I often ride my bike through it and even then there’s usually a dozen or so people strolling around or sleeping on the grass in the summer. Mostly homeless folks and joggers, but it’s not like there’s that many people up and moving around at 5 in the morning in general.

Whoa, guys, during the day and weekends in summer the park is hugely busy!

Yeah I’d say it’s about the busiest picnicking park in the city in summertime, except maybe Jeanne-Mance.
