News from the Charbonneau commission
At the Charbonneau commission Tuesday, Lino Zambito continued his testimony by pointing the finger at Robert Abdallah, once the city’s director-general, and at Frank Zampino, once head of the executive committee. Abdallah has denied the allegations of taking a rake-off and of forcing Zambito, when a contractor, to buy materials from a firm in which he had an interest.
Abdallah quit working for the city in May 2006 and went to work for a construction firm owned by Tony Accurso.
Frank Zampino also rejected the allegation he basically ordered that a contract be given to Simard-Beaudry, another Accurso joint.
Three city employees have been suspended while Zambito’s allegations are investigated.

Oy. Ya gotta wonder why many many red flags were not raised long ago on this stuff. Throw the lot of them out on the street and start again.

The red flags have been raised in the public for years. It’s just that the people actually involved were either doing too well or too weak to want to actually make any change. I don’t know what miracle is making the truth finally come out, but I am loving every minute of it. We need heads to roll now.
