Îlot Voyageur to be on public bill for years
Public money will be partly paying for the Îlot Voyageur till 2044, as the Quebec purse will be covering interest payments until that year even if it’s sold off, the Journal saying it’ll add up to $80 million by 2044.

What a fiasco! How hard would it be for the goverment to finish it up and make small appartments for students and/or single people. There ain’t much left to be done anyway and that way they would at least collect some money.
Here’s something the PQ should fix right away.

Well, they may not be able to. I’m no fiscal expert, but the PQ is not exactly allowed to tear up contracts and engagements made by previous governments – they’re not starting with a clean slate, and there may be financial pressures on the government to make the purchase of the Îlot more attractive by offering this kind of assistance.
