Election day and demo notes
Do you still believe in J.C.? A political demonstration against Jean Charest ornamented the front of St. Joseph’s Oratory on Monday morning.
A casserole demo was held Monday night with marchers moving from Villeray – here’s a youtube of it, very noisy.
How to vote; how not to vote. How to watch the election returns in English.
I’m working as a scrutateur today and will not be blogging again till later this evening but I won’t be allowed to talk or write about the experience except in the most general terms.

There’s an article on this election on Al Jazeera English: http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2012/09/201293111014661582.html

Al Jazeera covers it, but the New York Times huge Sunday edition didn’t. They did, mind you, cover the Maple Syrup theft, no doubt assuming the loss of syrup was more important to Canadians than any election!!
