Fall commute to be a bitch
Lots of pieces are pondering on the after-Labour-Day commute and how difficult it’s going to be, partly because various new features meant to relieve the congestion are not yet ready and there are still lots of orange cones on road repair sites around town.
The program for En ville sans ma voiture will be announced in a few days’ time and is said to involve more features than ever. Features can be nice – but every year the event seems to inch further away from the basic premise of banning cars from a significant part of town and more into the zone of pointless PR flackage.

I’m pretty sure it is the same story that the news media run around this time every year, they just change the dates. Few make the extra effort to highlight all the alternatives to single car use including all the online carpooling matching systems.
