Plateau puts two pianos in the street
It’s all over local media that the Plateau has put two pianos in the street at the disposal of passersby, and that Patrick Watson inaugurated the one at the corner of Marie-Anne and Saint-Denis.
Not clear what happens to them when it rains, but I’ve read recently that conventional pianos, like film cameras, have tumbled in value in recent years, so unless you’ve got a Steinway or a Bechstein you’re basically paying people to haul them away.

Just saw something similar in Tel-Aviv. Great initiative.

I can’t believe the utter ignorance of Mayor Fernandez for doing this, that sidewalk could have been narrowed and another lane of traffic added .Instead we have a piano, music and people loitering. When will he learn that priorities are priorities, who uses sidewalks anyways?

I saw one of these on Marie-Anne at St-Denis today on a pleasant little widened sidewalk in front of the church there. I figured that the person playing it (quite well) had it on wheels and brought it with him. It appeared to have some kind of tarp on it so maybe that’s how it’s protected by the rain.
