Ministry cancels contract for tunnel work
The transport minister has cancelled a contract for work on the Ville-Marie tunnel because it had been made with CIMA+, one of the firms responsible for last summer’s paralume collapse.
The collapse also involved a consortium that included SNC-Lavalin and Dessau. One by one, the government seems to be ruling out working with the province’s biggest engineering and construction firms.

seriously, if i’m bechtel or whoever, i’m looking at how much infrastructure is to be built over the coming years, how rich the contracts, and how clear the competitive (and public relations) advantage. it’s only a matter of time;.

Only one choice left; make changes that make it easier for non-Quebec firms to do work in Quebec.

Kevin, you know the problem with that: if government contracts to non-Quebec firms, they’ll be condemned for failing to create jobs for Quebecers.

You mean like all those workers (not) imported to do the job over at the French superhospital? Le Consortium Chum collectif is three non-Canadian firms doing the planning and supervising.
The construction workers are local people =local jobs.
