Bride drowns in wedding dress
It’s being widely reported this weekend so I’m noting it: a woman who was married earlier this summer and wanted some more wedding dress photos was drowned when the weight of her waterlogged dress dragged her into the Ouareau river near Rawdon.

man, this one ended up being a global “weird news” story. i was surfing around and i saw it as the most clicked story on bbc’s news page, among the top ten the le monde’s page (thankfully gone now), on nytimes.com, ny daily news, jazeera’s english page. grim weird news superstardom acftually adds to the tragedy of it all, like the most undignified of all deaths, though i guess as a realtor, she went out like she lived (sorry).
part of me is actually relieved that most outsiders don’t get the context of this being only the latest in a series of weird drowning deaths in the belle province, completely aside from the embarrassingly and extremely number of drowning deaths in the province this year.
