Guy metro entrance reopening
The western entrance to Guy metro is finally reopening on Saint-Mathieu; I haven’t heard whether things are improved in the metro station itself.

I see no change in the station itself, although I haven’t tried the renovated western entrance. The station is still dripping with odd coloured goop and it hot and stinky on warm days.

I’m flashing to John Goodman in “The Big Lebowski,” trashing a car, yelling “This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!,” “This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps!”

The Guy station is hell on earth. It’s about 600º in there year-round and, as Blork said, is covered in goop. I think giant wall boogers would be more accurate. I really don’t know what can be done other than a full tear-down and re-build, to improve it.

Um, yeah, my comment was supposed to be with the deforestation post.

@ Marc – Couldn’t agree more. As bad as the sweltering temps are down there in the summertime, it’s even worse in the winter when you find yourself standing around in 35 degree temps while wearing an arctic parka. I call bullshit on all the STM’s excuses on why it has to be this way. They may not be able to air condition the stations but they could at least get some more air into them.

Guy was the first metro station the city built, so it’s not so surprising it’s flawed. But I agree they should be able to retrofit it with better ventilation and dehumidification now, if nothing else.
Michel, I thought for a minute you really hated Guy metro. But I can’t easily move your comment. If you post it again in the right thread, I’ll delete this one.
