Free plug for Café Union
Got up this morning and my coffee machine wouldn’t heat up. I hauled it down to Café Union on Jean-Talon. While I hung out and drank coffee they diagnosed it, replaced the switch – which had broken down – and gave it back.
Which is good, because my La Pavoni is just as crucial to doing this blog as my computers are.
This is a free plug for Café Union, not part of a deal. I’m just so happy the machine doesn’t have to sit in a repair shop for a week.

C’est la plug la plus pertinente que j’ai lue depuis… toujours.

On y vend du bon café en grains puis des cafetières et des accessoires – l’odeur du café dans le magasin toute seule pourrait réveiller les morts.

They have beautiful machines as well. The type that make you think, “yeah, when I win the lottery I’ll be stopping in here.” As it is, I stick with my mocha pot, which, I may add, they sell a great mix for.

Yes, I was eyeing the big shiny machines while waiting.
I keep a mocha pot for backup. I wouldn’t even have a La Pavoni except someone gave me an old one that had been passed on to him by someone else, and that he wasn’t into using. They’re tricky beasts (the opposite of a tidy, predictable Nespresso machine) but I’ve come to love using one.
