ConU collects $70K in memory of Jun Lin
Concordia University has collected $70,000 in Jun Lin’s memory, although this article doesn’t make it clear how it breaks down to money for Lin’s family vs. money for the student grant it established in his honour.

Sorta sad that 10x as much was raised for that bullied bus monitor.

Got a link on that story, Chris?
To clarify the money angle, CBC news this morning mentioned that Concordia is putting $10K into an academic award to be named in honour of Jun Lin, and the rest will go to his family, probably to keep them here until the trial. (Not to be disrespectful, but I’m not clear why they can’t go home now and come back for the trial in March, but it seems to be important.)

Thanks Chris. A different country and different circumstances, so it’s not a close comparison.

True, tho the fundraising was organized by a Canadian and donations came from everywhere. Maybe if Concordia had put a video on youtube… :0

The donations for the bus monitor came from Kickstarter, so that helped.
Besides, there were videos for Jun Lin but, yeah, different audience there altogether.
