About commenting in recent days
In recent days on this blog I’ve seen things escalate to incidents of name-calling and taunting, which has never happened here before.
I post about news and issues and I expect that to provoke some response and debate. But I don’t like looking at snark and invective, or hysterically angry remarks, and neither do most people.
So, even if an opinion makes you flare up, please take a deep breath and use that impulse to make you think through a better argument, not throw a stone at your opponent’s head. Do we understand each other?
I do not want to invoke the banhammer, but I will if I have to.

I know I haven’t been contributing to the recent kerfluffle too much, but I also know that I can be incendiary. In the name of peace and communication, I shall attempt to be more reasonable and conciliatory in my tone going forward. This is a good community here. We can all contribute to it remaining good, despite our differences in opinion on important matters.

walkerp and Jack, you’re not the people I’m looking at.
I’m not calling anyone out by name, but they know who they are.

Well, for my part I’m sorry Kate. It’s easy to get carried away online.

Banhammer… Makes me think of Thor :)
Sorry to make light if the matter but I just saw an Avengers ad and then I read that word…

Josh, I appreciate your words.
