for two different and fairly obvious reasons, i’d gather. on the one hand, the good guys want the most local possible decision-making on issues that are best decided locally. and on the other, a group of cynics wants to maximize the number of elected positions and retain the greatest number of their colleagues, cartel-style.
Yep. I think the number could be somewhat reduced, but I don’t think merely reducing it is an answer to anything. If it’s reduced it should be as part of a rationalization of the whole structure of city governance.
