Arbitrator arrives at deal for firemen
Without a contract since 2006, the city’s firemen now have an arbitrated deal giving them a total 4% retroactive raise plus 2.8% for 2010. They wanted more, but the city has pleaded its budgetary limits and plans to use this deal as a guideline for new contracts with other major city unions.
