City braces for bedbugs after Moving Day
The city is asking people not to take abandoned mattresses during Moving Day’s usual festival of informal alley recycling (and also to responsibly recycle and dispose of stuff they’re trashing before moving). The city and local health authority have even put up a special site with information about coping with bedbugs and is requiring that they be reported.

Bedbugs also stay in wood. Just don’t pick up used furniture of the street – especially if you live in an apartment building. If you bring in bedbugs, everybody in your building may eventually suffer.
