    The city is putting efforts into fighting the emerald ash borer, a tiny green beetle whose larvae damage and eventually destroy ash trees. There are 150,000 ash trees along the streets of this city.

    OpenFile has a report on how the STM’s portable OPUS recharger is completely resistant to hacking. But “what one man can invent another can discover,” as Sherlock Holmes says. We shall see.

      I hear there was this huge ocean liner that was completely resistant to sinking. So resistant, in fact, that we still talk about it today, one hundred years later.

      hahaha. Such a claim alone will inspirer hackers. It’ll be hacked within a week of its release.

      Haha, yeahhhhhh. Everything with electronic locks gets circumvented eventually. Someone’s gonna crack it wide open and then those “it’s anti-fraud” claims about OPUS are gonna look even more ridiculous than they already do.

      Not that it matters, but the Titanic was never claimed to be unsinkable. That claim was added by journalists after the fact to make a better story of out the whole disaster.

      Makes for a irresistible cautionary tale though.
