    Some interesting stuff about the history of St-Denis around Beaubien from an establishment on that corner. A nice touch – it would be fun if more businesses added some historical background to their business websites. (Thanks to Zeke for pointing this one out.)

    After some kind of dispute, a man got in his car early Sunday morning and rammed it into the frontage of a café in Saint-Michel. The café has a certain history among police. One arrest followed.

    The Canadiens organization is still fighting the city over the tax valuation of the Bell Centre, a fight that goes back to 2004.

      I thought you don’t have to pay much property tax for rail right of ways.

      Yes, what a brilliant example of urban planning it was to build the Bell Centre on top of the railway tracks leading to a major rail hub. “Hockey Night in Canada was brought to you by Ford!”
