Both Rue Frontenac and the Gazette have this story about two policewomen being injured when trying to apprehend a drunken driver, who dragged them some distance with his car. Both brief items make the same mistake in misspelling a Hochelaga-Maisonneuve street name (“Dixon”), which makes me wonder which outfit swiped from the other (or did police make the original mistake in a bulletin?).

A young woman was stabbed to death in a fight Saturday night in the eighth homicide of the year. Two men, both with injuries, have been arrested. (The Gazette says the incident was in Villeray, but the other stories correctly make it Saint-Michel, near Jean-Rivard and 14th Avenue.)

I think The Gazette should return to saying ”East end” for everything occuring east of St-Laurent, that way they would avoid a lot of mistake because they don’t seem to know much about the East side anyway.
