One of Harper’s Quebec MPs managed to make a classic gaffe recently in minimizing the importance of Bombardier as an economic force. Bernard Généreux even used to be mayor of La Pocatière where Bombardier has a big installation.

It’s worth listening to the Discovery report on this BBC page about how Quebec and Canada continue to push the sale of asbestos products in the third world despite its dangers. (If you want an mp3 version of the report, you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.)
After posting this, I saw this piece on Michael Ignatieff promising to halt asbestos exports if elected.
