The mayor says he’s disappointed that Yvan Delorme is quitting as police chief but not everyone is so sad – the union ranks resented the golden top-up to his pension as well as his attitudes. But someone should tell Delorme that claiming to have no skeletons in his closet is bound to make people wonder: what about this third-in-command with a construction business? And this strange business of the private security firm? (Go Michèle Ouimet Go, I say.)

The Villanueva inquiry drags on. Yesterday the police lawyer presented a photo showing both Dany and the late Fredy throwing gang signs, and said it shows their supposed departure from the gang was bogus. The inquest continues.

Those old-style parking meters converted to charity donation devices have been spiffed up and individualized with fancy paint jobs to grab the eye. So far they’ve managed to provide $23K in donations.
