Joe Magri, elected borough mayor of Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-au-Trembles in October is quitting politics for health reasons, and a councillor will take the job temporarily till a by-election. Magri had taken over Cosmo Maciocia’s job in the borough, he was with Union Montreal and is only 40.
