The Régie du bâtiment has declared safe the Peel Street façade from which a concrete slab fell and killed a woman last July. News that 600 of the thousand slabs stuck to the building have been bolted down makes me 100% certain I will never eat sushi in the restaurant below it. The damn thing should’ve been completely remodeled, not stuck back together. It’s not as if it’s a thing of beauty.

Another Italian café in Saint-Michel was attacked last night, an employee was assaulted and an attempt was made to set fire to the place. But the attackers were armed and money was stolen, which was never mentioned in the earlier string of café incidents.

The STM is pondering two new bus runs to start in March: one would be a Plateau-downtown express, and one would go from an unspecified point downtown out to the airport. The article mentions that it would undercut the existing Aerobus service.
