Expo, always a dream of salvation

Benoit Labonté wants Montreal to follow the example of Quebec City and spiff itself up, and puts in a word for his Expo 2020 idea; Richard Martineau effectively skewers the Expo idea with a satirical alternative; a lot of talk about how Montreal is depressed and so forth adds up to very few useful ideas. The entire world has been shaken by financial crisis and winter's coming and it's easy to let those moods seep into everything else, but let's not allow journalistic pessimism to convince us that Montreal is in a crisis or a steep decline. It's a medium-sized city with a few problems. Life goes on.
