I don't do a lot of metablogging on media affairs, but it's news when a
major media outlet announces its plans to
close down its entire news department: TQS has to
keep up a minimum schedule of news bulletins in order to satisfy CRTC requirements till the end of the summer, and then even that much will be gone. It's an opportunity for Quebec to
make a bid for
independence from CRTC controls, but it's also bad for people relying on TQS for
regional news.
