Lots of medical stories this week.
There are
too many babies being born for Montreal hospitals to handle, although you don't keep the population down by establishing a quota for
accouchements.
The anesthetists at Sacré-Cœur hospital are
refusing to play along with the Quebec government's experiment with a
partenariat public-privé.
Operators for Urgences-Santé are
threatening to strike, having been without a contract for four years. Ambulance drivers, also without a contract,
held a demo this week too. Urgences-Santé labour actions are restrained by the essential services law.
Finally,
two nurses at the Jewish General have been
sacked and suspended for nicking patients' painkillers. Class act, boys.
