Quebec's action to reserve Île Charron to annex to the Îles de Boucherville park is popular with many, but not with the mayor of Longueuil, who had had his eye on increased tax revenues from its development. The issue of the inflated price tag for the land is also developing, with Quebec saying the sale of the critical hectares had never gone through.
