The massive but disused Saint Alphonse church – probably known to most as something glimpsed from Highway 40 east of the Main – and its adjoining monastery will be turned into an old folks' home. Unfortunately, a new building means losing some great trees, but otherwise it sounds like a good use for a solid but unwanted piece of church history.
