It's a story with ramifications, but the upshot is that the
head of the SAQ is being
blamed for inflated wine prices costing Quebecers
millions of extra dollars over the course of the last year or two. But given that the government has treated the SAQ like a cash cow, this hardly seems surprising.
Ideally our wine prices should come down a notch now, but does anyone really expect that they will, now that the government is accustomed to this level of revenue? I didn't think so.
