Plateau folks protest speeders
Plateau residents held a protest asking for help in keeping motorists down to posted speeds. I wish them good luck, but I don't think there's the political will (yet) to hold back the primacy of the car. One thing I'll mention, though: drivers in Villeray are amazingly calmer and more polite and considerate than in the Plateau. It surprised me too, as I was expecting to encounter drivers revved up and crazy from driving on the Met, but it's not so. Now: why is this, and can the effect be duplicated elsewhere in town? |
